City of Los Angeles Contracting Opportunities

The City of Los Angeles purchases a vast array of goods and services for the effective operation and maintenance of the City's infrastructure. Additionally, we work with a number of organizations, both public and private, that provide opportunities for contracting and support services.

Local Preference Ordinance

 

The Local Preference Ordinance gives businesses in Los Angeles County an 8 percent competitive advantage in bids and proposals for City contracts. Non-proprietary City departments must consider bids from LA County businesses at 8 percent below their submitted value for contracts where selection is based primarily on the lowest bid. The ordinance also gives an 8 percentage point boost on contracts that are scored on a variety of other factors. Read More.
